Did you sleep little videung

Sleep, you little videung, it's still winter.Still sleeping birch and heather, rose and hyacinths. It is still a long way to spring, before rowan is in bloom. If you slept little willow, it's still winter.Sunshine eye looks at you, sunshine embrace you rock.Soon it turns green on the forest path, and every flower flags.Than a little sunshine prayer, willow little becomes so green.Sunshine eye sees you, sunshine embrace you rock.

Now at Rest

Now at rest, snooze in, in bed so nice.Like the flower on a meadow, in a rocking bed.And the angels of God spread out their small, broad wings. And for the child to rest, until the night is over. Now at rest, snooze in, my little darling.Down in the pillow, where you hide, in your rosy dream.Until you grow little friend, the next morning again.Until you grow little friend, the next morning again.

Origin and author

This is originally a German lullaby, written by Johannes Brahms in 1868, and translated into several versions. The most famous is the one written by Alice Tegnér.
